Recent advancements in technology are starting to lead to products that have the ability to make our lives drastically better. For example, the ability of phones to have face recognition is now moving away from just being able to unlock your smartphone and is being implemented into police cars. Of course, such a system is reserved for the most technologically advanced and exclusive police cars in the world.

You won’t find it in your normal day-to-day trooper. Where will you find it? Well, in the UAE. Where did you expect to find it? So, as we are sure you are curious, here is everything you need to know about the world’s most futuristic police car.

Let’s be honest, there aren’t many countries in the world that are more impressive than the UAE. The economy enables people to have expensive toys or expensive police cars. For example, you may have seen Dubai’s police car fleet that is filled with Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and even a Toyota Supra. All those images aren’t fake, those police cars actually exist. Now, aside from the ready-made manufactured vehicles, the Dubai police also have some specialty equipment. A record-breaking police boat is in the fleet and lately, they have added the Ghiath – the world’s most futuristic police car.

Why Is This Vehicle SO Technologically Advanced?

The UAE has become a country that is considered amongst the safest in the world. This has been done through police presence, surveillance cameras, and other measures that ensure the safety of the public. As technology advances, security systems become more and more clever. This is why the Ghiath is so technologically advanced. At a first glance, it may look slightly American in terms of styling, but it isn’t. The Ghiath is made in the UAE by a company named W Motors. This is the same company that created the Lykan supercar. Yes, the one you’ve seen in Fast and Furious 7.

What Technology Does The Ghiath Feature?

Well, this police vehicle is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. It is loaded with everything from AI-powered screens to thermal cameras and rescue drones. Press a button and a camera (that looks like a robot) will pop out of the roof. This camera can turn around 360 degrees and is equipped with face recognition. It can also read license plates meaning that police officers can have the name of people in seconds and can also determine whether their car is on the road legally (for reasons like road tax and insurance).

This camera can also zoom 30X giving officers the ability to examine situations from a safer point. Moving over to the front, the Ghiath gets huge letters stating its name, and directly above those letters, five more front-facing cameras with the same functions as the one on the roof. But wait, there are more cameras. If you look closely, you will also spot a wide-angle unit on the side and three more rear-facing ones.

All have the same functions. All these cameras are displayed in the interior via a big center screen and a passenger side screen. The coolest camera of all, however, is located in the rear. Open the tailgate and you are greeted with a drawer system. Inside those drawers, you will find a drone that is equipped with a thermal camera, a speaker, and microphone. Is this one of the coolest police car features ever? Maybe.

The Ghiath Also Values The Safety Of The Officers

Of course, systems like the cameras make the job of police officers far safer as they don’t have to get close to dangerous situations as often. Such functions enable them to sit inside the police car and do their work via the available cameras. But this isn’t where officer's safety stops. In the rear seats, the Ghiath features a smart seatbelt system which is simple yet incredibly effective.

The seatbelt is mounted on a rail in front of the occupant; therefore, the police officers can simply grab it and buckle the criminal in without having the risk of getting injured by sudden or violent movements of the person that is being arrested. Oh, and there is one more camera. This one monitors the officers and is facing inside. It makes sure that the officers are safe and are paying attention to their job. No one gets a break with the Ghiath!

The Ghiath Is Already On The Streets Of Dubai

The Ghiath has already gone through production. This is no concept vehicle. Actually, 10 of them are on the streets of Dubai doing work and the government has ordered 400 more. We believe that such police cars have the power to make the world we live in a better place. Technology such as AI and face recognition exists through smartphones where it is used mostly for entertainment and knowledge.

Why not implement such features for our safety as well? With such clever surveillance systems on actual police cars committing crimes and getting away with it will be near impossible. It would be cool to see the Ghiath make its way in other countries as well, but we have no information on weather this is going to happen or not. It will surely be an expensive machine, but also one that will make the life of citizens and officers much easier and safer.
