EVs are mankind's biggest gateway to a sustainable future. Today we have every car manufacturer pump millions into R&D to outplay its competitors, and at the forefront, we have General Motors. After rolling out the Chevrolet Silverado EV and Blazer EV, the Detroit-based automobile manufacturers are all set to launch the latest 2024 Chevy Equinox EV. The company aims to become the mainstream choice for the next generation of customers with this latest launch. The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV claims to be packed with all the necessary features a customer would look for. That includes everything interior and exterior. Built on GM's Ultium platform, this compact SUV seems to be all set to create a stir in the world of electric vehicles and be the next big thing.

There's An Equinox EV For Everyone

The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV will feature a range of trim levels. The brand has categorized this based on battery sizes and range estimates. The base model (1LT) is priced at around $30,000. The makers promised two more LT trims (2LT and 3LT) and higher-spec RS variants. The 2RS and 3RS trims are said to have better interiors and techs. GM offers Super Cruise, the driver-assist hands-free driving feature, for an additional price. As per the company's claims, the "hands-free advanced driver-assist system (ADAS)" will be able to operate on 400,000 miles of roads across North America.

There's cut-throat competition in the compact electric SUV segment, so the automaker has given its best when it comes to the Equinox EV. The ones who prefer the base variant can get themselves a standard front-wheel drive with an EPA-rated range of up to approximately 300 miles. If you are willing to sacrifice a bit on the range, you can then have yourself an all-wheel drive format for an estimated 280 miles with a higher variant. General Motors announced it will be kick-starting its sales with the 2RS variant in falls 2023. The other variants are expected to hit the showrooms in spring 2024 as per the manufacturer's statement.

The beauty would not just be in the eyes of the beholder with the new Chevy Equinox EV. The SUV flaunts a robust and neat exterior. The design is almost similar to its fuel-powered version. However, the front end is entirely different. The thin light bar that runs across the full width sets it apart. Chevy offers nine exterior and two interior color options. The 3LT and 3RS models will have 21-inch wheels as compared to the 20-inch wheels of 2RS and 19-inch wheels of 1LT and 2LT. In short, the Chevy Equinox EV is a muscular car that will be the center of attention while out on the streets.

Speaking about the interior, the Equinox EV's 1LT and 2LT trims will have a standard 11-inch instrument cluster and an 11-inch infotainment screen. The 3LT, 2RS, and 3RS variants will have a 17.7-inch screen. The makers have gone luxurious with additional built-in features like an awe-inspiring dashboard, heated front seats and steering wheels, customizable ambient lights, and intuitive controls. GM also promises enough cargo room and five comfortable seats.

The Equinox EV brims with futuristic technologies that'll gift you with a supreme driving experience and unmatched safety. It comes with one-pedal driving which can be fused with regenerative braking to put energy back into the battery and improve the range. The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV has numerous standard safety assists. It comes with a Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency and Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, and High Beam Assist.

Despite the fast-paced developments in car manufacturing, the automobile industry still faces hurdles when it comes to EV infrastructure. There aren't as many EV charging stations as much as gas stations, not even close. This is why the manufacturers must introduce large battery capacity and fast charging options. Keeping the same in mind, the Chevy Equinox EV has a promising range of up to 300 miles. GM claims 210 horsepower and 242 pound-feet of torque for the standard front-wheel drive EV variant and a stunning 290 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque for the AWD version. The standard 11.5kW charging module is expected to add up to 34 miles of range per hour of charging. The upper variants with 19.2kW modules can add up to 51 miles of range per hour of charging. GM has enabled fast charging feature of up to 150kW across all variants. This will enable nearly 70 miles of range to be added in about 10 minutes.

The manufacturers have built this car with the intent of keeping its price low. However, GM has done a fine job of packing all the latest features, technology, and esthetics without compromising on quality for a relatively lesser starting MSRP of $30,000. The EV is built on GM's Ultium platform and the company is planning to build a "coast-to-coast" charging network in partnership with EVgo. The company also offers apps and software that facilitate customers to use third-party charging services. General Motors is planning to make its mark in the EV sector and face competitors like Tesla, Hyundai, and Ford with the launch of the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV. From power and performance to tech and beauty, this car is projected to be the next big thing in the electric car market.
