After being announced back in September 2021, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance is now officially on sale. At least in Europe where it will be priced at €196,897 - or, about $221,000 at the current exchange rates.

Along with the sales launch of the AMG GT 63 S E Performance, Mercedes also announced a new special edition based on the performance hybrid sedan. Called, well, the Special Edition, it will add another 21,777 euro - or about $25,500 to the price

Deliveries for both the standard model and the new Special Edition will begin in April 2022.

What sets the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance Special Edition apart?

The new special edition is finished in a green hell magno paint and will be offered with both, the AMG Night Package and the AMG Night Package II that will add several elements in high-gloss black and dark chrome. Black foiling will be offered above the side sills, while a panoramic roof will be offered as an option.

The car sits on 21-inch AMG forged wheels in a five-twin-spoke design, painted black and with a rim flange with a high-sheen finish.

For the interior, the model is offered as standard with sports seats in Exclusive Nappa leather in two-tone titanium grey pearl/black with yellow contrasting topstitching, but AMG Performance seats are offered as an option. Also, various AMG elements are offered as standard in a black piano-lacquer look, but, they can also be made in carbon fiber as an option.

No changes were made under the hood. It retains the same 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V-8 engine combined with an electric motor. The V-8 engine delivers a total of 630 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque, while the electric motor adds another 201 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. The system delivers a combined 831 ponies and 1,033 pound-feet of torque!

The GT 63S E can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds, from 0 to 124 mph in under 10 seconds, and has a top speed of 196 mph.
