Triumph is one of the most famous and esteemed motorcycle manufacturers in the world, yet some of their models undeservedly fly under the radar. It seems almost unfathomable that arguably Britain’s most famous bike company would have any underrated, underappreciated bikes, yet they do.

Despite being such an iconic brand, with images of Marlon Brando riding a vintage Triumph Thunderbird 6T coming to mind, however, there are models that don’t get the attention they deserve much like the Triumph Tiger 900 model lineup. The 900s are adventure bikes with plenty of power and sit just below Triumph’s top-of-the-line Tiger 1200 series. The Tiger 900 line might be overshadowed by some of the more classic designs that made Triumph one of the biggest names in the motorcycle industry, but they have plenty to offer the modern rider looking for an adventure.

Perfect For An Urban Adventure

The 900 GT, GT Low, and GT Pro are adventure bikes with an emphasis on paved road travel. Of course, like any decent adventure bike, let alone one from Triumph, the GT can handle some dirt road action as well. The Tiger 900 GT comes in three stylish colors, Pure White, Sapphire Black, and Caspian Blue with a starting price of only $14,995 for the white version.

The GT is designed for long road travel and is comfortable for the rider for the long haul and packs plenty of power with its 888cc liquid-cooled engine. The next-gen engine puts out quite a bit of power with 93.9 HP @ 8,750 rpm and 64 ft-lb @ 7,250 rpm. The motorcycle has a large 5.28-gallon tank and gets 55.4 MPG to keep riders going for the long haul without having to refuel too often on their adventures. Marzocchi Suspension with that can be adjusted with over seven inches of travel in the front and over six at the rear making sure the rider has a comfortable for their long journey for whatever the road might throw at them. They come with a beautiful full color, high contrast 7-inch TFT display, cruise control, ABS, traction control, and four ride modes all make this a long road trip-worthy bike. The 900 GT Low has the exact same starting price, color choices, basically the same looks, and mostly the same specs and performance as the regular GT. The GT Low just sits a bit lower, with a seat height that can be adjusted from 30.32 to 31.1 inches as opposed to 32.28 to 33.07 inches on the GT. The Tiger 900 GT Pro has all the same details as the regular GT with some very cool extra features. One of the extras that the Pro has is electronic RSU; a rider can make adjustments through the TFT panel to suspension instead of manually like the other GTs. An additional ride mode, a tire pressure monitoring system, quickshifter, and My Triumph connectivity all make the starting price of $16,895 look like good value.

While the Tiger 900 GT models are focused on paved riding, the 900 Rally and Rally Pro focuses on the unpaved roads. The Rally and Rally Pro come in color choices of Pure White, Sandstorm (matte gray), or Sapphire Black. Starting at $15,695 the Rally has a lot of the same core elements as the GT. The whole 900 lineup, including Rally, carries the same next-gen 888cc liquid-cooled inline-three engine. The Rally models' suspension is provided by Showa and is adjustable. The Rally also has a full-color TFT seven-inch screen and four riding modes. The Rally Pro ups the ante by adding the Triumph Shift Assist quickshifter, My Triumph connectivity system, and two extra ride modes, it starts at $17,395. While the Rally models are meant to excel off the paved road they are still capable on it.

The Name Is Tiger 900, Tiger 900 Bond Edition

Tiger 900 Bond Edition

One of the coolest bikes in the Tiger series is the Tiger 900 Bond Edition. A limited run of only 250 bikes were made to commemorate the legacy of James Bond and Triumph motorcycles onscreen. The limited bike run was inspired by the Tiger 900 Rally featured in the Bond film No Time To Die.

Of course this special motorcycle features a unique black paint job with gold accents including the 007 emblem across the tank. Each one is individually numbered with a billet machined handlebar clamp. The startup screen for the TFT has unique James Bond themed graphics, stitching on the seats, and comes with off-road tires. The bike also comes with unique number COA (Certificate of Authenticity) to provide legitimacy to any future buyers. Unfortunately, Triumph already sold all of these limited edition 900s, but riders yearning for this model might be able to find this on the used market, probably with a bit of markup!
