Naked motorcycles started as something of an underground trend, that trend slowly caught on and eventually turned into a whole new category. As more people embraced the stripped-down look, motorcycle manufacturers began to take notice. Before long, they began producing sport bikes that came without fairings or bodywork, these became known as naked bikes. Unlike the DIY models of the past, these modern production bikes have improved aerodynamics and performance abilities. MV Agusta is a front-runner in the naked bike category with their Brutale lineup. Here's why the Brutale is the coolest naked bike on the street.

The MV Agusta Brutale has an aggressive stance that gives the bike serious attitude. The fat front tire is prominent out in front of a large headlight which is set back. The entire bike has a scrunched-up look, as if the front of the bike was pushed inward. The bike looks like it is crouched down, ready to pounce. It is just the right amount of attitude to compliment the naked and exposed frame design. Roll down a city street, and the bike turns heads as the bold colors demand attention. They will continue to stare as this rebel looks completely different from the other bikes on the road.

9 High-End Materials Come As Standard

MV Agusta engineers didn't spare any expense when designing and building MV Agusta Brutale motorcycles. The higher-end materials may drive up the purchase price, but it is well worth it. Owners enjoy riding a top-of-the-line motorcycle with high-end materials and revolutionary construction methods. You will see carbon fiber wheels and body parts.

This latest generation of carbon fiber lightens the overall weight of the bike. It also improves the motorcycle's performance when riding at high speeds or around tight curves. When it came time to build the engine, basic materials were replaced with race-worthy alternatives. For example, the con-rods and valves are made from titanium, this decreases weight and increases durability.

8 A Brutal Exhaust Note

As a general rule, the exhaust that comes stock on a bike is ugly. It is one of the most common aftermarket upgrades that people do. With the MV Agusta Brutale, you don't need to do anything. The exhaust that comes stock on the Brutale models is impressive to look at and compliments the rest of the bike's design perfectly. The RR model comes with a single-sided triple-pipe design. It has a lovely burnished finish and an angular design that you do not commonly see. The other models have two pairs of high-mount exhaust pipes that keep the rear of the bike looking brutal and compact.

The lack of fairings reduces the overall weight of the bike. This improves the power-to-weight ratio, helping to give the bike its incredible performance. The engine in the Brutale motorcycles is also unique. It is an inline-4 with radial valves. It's able to produce plenty of power and packs a serious punch. On the front of the bike there is a small wing that could easily be mistaken for a fairing. However, it does so much more. When you ride at high speeds, this wing increases the downforce on the front axle which helps to keep the bike planted.

6 It Is Technologically Advanced

It is also completely customizable to your riding needs. You can sync your smartphone to your bike and use the MV Ride App to control the display and functionality of the bike. You also have access to navigation features through the app. Save the routes that you love and share them on social media.

The lineup includes the Rosso, RR, 1000 RR, 1000 RS, and the limited edition 1000 Nurburgring. They come in two engine displacement sizes, 798cc and 998cc, and range in horsepower from 110 to 212. Swing a leg over the MV Agusta Brutale motorcycles and fire them up. You'll immediately hear the engine roar to life. Go ahead and twist the throttle, and you will hear the rich, throaty sound of the Brutale engine come to life. The refined engineering of the Brutale's engine goes beyond performance to have a sound that's pleasing to the ear. There is no eardrum-piercing high-pitched squeal. There is no underwhelming rumble or sputtering. Instead, you have a bike engine that growls and increases in intensity as you twist the throttle, demanding more power from the capable engine.

3 Improved Ergonomics On The Brutale

The MV Agusta Brutale motorcycles are about more than just cool rebel looks and performance-tuned engines. They are also comfortable bikes to ride. This makes them perfect for all-day prowling around the city streets. The memory foam-lined seat has plenty of supportive cushioning for your added comfort. Its gentle curve cradles your body as you sit in the saddle. The large hump of the fuel tank curves to match the curve of your upper body as you lean forward to reach for the handlebars. The rider position is slightly more upright, thanks to the handlebars being slightly higher than some other naked bikes. This reduces the stress on your lower body, arms, and legs.

2 The Brutale Is Compact

All the MV Agusta Brutale motorcycles weigh somewhere in the 400-pound range. The bikes also have a shorter wheelbase, making them more agile and nimble. To compliment the shorter stance, the tailpiece is also compact. While there is enough room for two, the passenger seat is very compact. The bulk of the passenger's weight is slightly forward, above the rear tire. This helps to keep the bulk of the weight within the rider triangle for better handling performance, and helps make the bikes feel incredibly lightweight. This comes at a great advantage when riding the bike in urban areas and city streets.

1 Modern LED Lights Illuminate The MV Agusta

The flush headlight assembly delivers plenty of illumination without being obtrusive to the overall bike design. The flush design looks clean and modern. The large round light could have a retro feel, but MV Agusta ensures this doesn't happen with the use of LED lights and high-end materials. Moving to the back of the bike, the futuristic lighting continues. The brake lights do not disappoint with a futuristic design of their own. It is also flush-mounted into the tail, giving the bike a streamlined look. The Brutale bikes also have a much nicer design for their license plate. There's no ugly plastic tail hanging off the back of the bike. Instead, the license plate mount hugs the tire for an unobtrusive design.
