Ducati rolled out its Hypermotard at the Milan show circa 2005 where it won “Best in Show” to start out its much-decorated production run. Built to fit into the existing supermotard market that supplies stunt riders and racers alike. Top-shelf suspension and powerful L-Twin engines have been constant partners across the board to make this a capable machine in spite of its somewhat whimsical design.

More on the Ducati Hypermotard

Since its inception, the Hypermotard family tree has branched out to encompass a range of engine sizes and trim packages to make it a fairly well-rounded platform, even if it keeps faithful to the spirit of the original design.

First rolled out with a 1,078 cc mill in early '06 as the '07 1100 and 1100S, the latter quickly made history by delivering Ducati's first win on Pikes Peak, ever, in '08 at the hands of pilot Greg Tracy. The factory scaled back to 800 cc in '09, then back up to 821 cc in '13, followed by a final bump up to 937 cc that will carry the family through at least MY21 with a 114-horsepower output. The latter sports a robust electronics suite that's definitely made with racing in mind, and will serve the rider well even if only used in a non-racing capacity.
