After 2023, Dodge's muscle cars will never be the same again. In fact, during the 2022 Monterey Car Week, Dodge unveiled the new Charger Daytona SRT - a concept that previews the company's all-electric muscle cars. So, yes, it is time to say goodbye to the V8-powered beats. And Dodge is going to do it in style: with a series of seven special-edition "Last Call" models. The first one - called Challenger Shakedown - was unveiled during the same show as the Daytona concept, and today is time to have our first look at the second one: the new Charger Super Bee.

What makes the 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee special?

Dodge's first Super Bee model was based on the 1968 Coronet two-door coupe and was the company's answer to the popularity of the Plymouth Road Runner. In 1971, the Super Bee model was moved to the Charger's platform. The classic Super Bee was built between 1968 and 1971 and was discontinued until 2007 when Dodge unveiled the Charger SRT-8 Super Bee. The Super bee models were built to be both daily drivers and weekend warriors at the track or drag strip. And the new, 2023 Charger Super Bee will do the same.

The 2023 Charger Super Bee will be limited to only 1,000 units: 500 units based on the Charger Scat Pack and offered in B5 Blue, and 500 based on the Charger Scat Pack Widebody and finished in Plum Crazy. Dodge said it will be the highest-performance Charger Super Bee model ever produced. This is because both versions are offered with a 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) Hemi V-8 engine that packs 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph is made in 4.3 seconds, while top speed is limited to 175 mph. To further improve its performance figures the model is also equipped with adaptive damping suspension with Drag Mode, SRT hood with functional scoop, dual heat extractors, and SRT black exhaust tips.

The Super Bee models will be offered with the Plus Group and Carbon/Suede packages and will also add:

- Super Bee exterior badging on the grille and front fenders

- Super Bee exterior graphics on the functional hood scoop and rear fenders (blue graphics with B5 Blue, white graphics with Plum Crazy)

- 20-by-9.5-inch knurled wheels with 275 drag radials (Scat Pack)

- 18-by-11-inch drag wheels with 315 drag radials (Scat Pack Widebody)

- Adaptive damping suspension with Drag Mode

- Black Mopar hood pin kit

- SRT hood with functional scoop and dual heat extractors

- SRT black exhaust tips

- Red four-piston Brembo brake system

- Super Bee interior instrument panel badge

- Super Bee seat back logos
