Since 2015, this Alicante-based shop has been exclusively transforming Triumph motorcycles into works of art. And the one in question, called Ongaku, definitely fits under that definition. In the past, scrambler motorcycles were meant to be used as rugged off-roaders, usually not associated with elegance and beauty. That is where Tamarit Motorcycles steps in.

Turning A Triumph Scrambler Into The Tamarit Ongaku

The Scrambler 900 has a four-stroke, air-cooled 865 cc engine, producing 59 horsepower at 68,000 rpm. It’s not astonishingly fast, but it makes up for it by providing lots of torque, especially in the low to mid-range. Seems like a great bike to start with.

The paint job is something that stands out on this Tamarit Ongaku. At a first glance it is a combination of a light blue, white and gold. But, the thing is, that is actually real gold. It is called ‘gold leaf,’ and it is a technique of applying very thin sheets of gold over a surface. In this case it was done completely by hand.

Besides the paint job, the other design element that catches the eye is definitely the seat. It was done in such way that the rider’s seat is completely separate from the passenger seat. What makes it even better is the brown suede upholstery that was chosen. The engine, shock absorbers and the seat post have been chrome-plated, giving it that classic look. To get a bit more power, two K&N air filters were installed.

Keeping That Classic Style For Tamarit Ongaku

The front part of Ongaku has a headlight covered with a chromed grill, under which is a high Sahara-style fender is set on a custom-made bracket. The rear side of the bike keeps that neoclassical line with high mounted fender and the retro looking tail-light.

Since ongaku actually means music in Japanese, attention was given to the music from the engine. The chrome-plated exhaust was hand-made and has a nice grid-like feature, leaning even more into that 70s style. New levers, grips and mirrors came from Kustom Tech. To stay consistent, even the electronics were kept simple. Motogadget supplied the miniature speedometer and the control buttons. But, not everything has to be completely old school. For that reason, a mo.unit blue engine control unit, which is essentially digital control unit for a motorcycle, was installed. It allows you to connect the Ongaku to your smartphone.
