Cop cars don't come out of the factory, ready for police duty. Somebody has to slap lights on those suckers, and hopefully upgrade the power and suspension to make for a proper pursuit vehicle. Pride Outfitting, out of Chandler, Arizona, is one such company that equips law enforcement vehicles, but they do it a little cooler than most.

The company just revealed a seriously impressive 2022 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody undercover police car. Equipped with a wide array of lights and packing all the power of the R/T, this is a far cry from the Crown Vics cops used to cruise around in. Speeders beware, that awesome Challenger in your rearview mirror could be one of these bad boys.

This Pride Outfitting Mod Is Officially Awesome

Sometimes pictures speak louder than words, and this Pride Outfitting video speaks for itself. That's a 2022 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody police car in indigo blue. From the front, it looks intimidating with lights on the roof, in the grill, and on the front spoiler. The headlights even double as police lights, so there's no excuse for not pulling over.

There are also lights along the runner boards on the side with even more flashers on the back window and rear license plate. All the flashing lights on the front of the vehicle double as floodlights for illuminating a crime scene or blinding a perp in a traffic stop.

The grill identifies this vehicle as an R/T and the engine marking on the front fender sure looks like it reads "392" so this is a legitimate Challenger Scat Pack Widebody. A brief look under the hood shows a Pride Outfitting siren and there's a control unit inside, next to the automatic transmission shifter.

The Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody Makes A Great Cop Car

The RWD 2022 Challenger R/T Scat pack Widebody has all the power needed for a law enforcement application. Equipped with the 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 392, the engine produces 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. That's enough to go 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and more than enough to chase down most bad guys.

The Challenger also comes with a four-wheel disc, and four-piston Brembo Performance breaks, which could stop a runaway semi on a 10 percent grade. These models usually come standard with a manual six-speed transmission, but the Pride Outfitting mod has the eight-speed automatic. While that's kind of a letdown, maybe they don't teach stick at the police academy.

Rounding out the good looks of this vehicle are 20-inch low-gloss Granite Crystal aluminum wheels. Additionally, the Scat Pack comes with Line Lock and Launch Control, just in case officers want to do a little street racing. A word of warning: don't drag race cops because even if you win, you lose.

Move Over Mad Max

Up until now, the coolest police vehicle was Mad Max's Pursuit Special. The "last of the V-8 Interceptors was actually a heavily modified 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT Hardtop with a super-charged 351. Unfortunately, that massive supercharger sticking out of the hood was fake, and the car was only modestly fast.

The Pride Outfitters 2022 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody Upfit is not only more eye-catching than Mad Max's ride, but it would also blow the doors off of it. This is more than enough vehicle to run down Toecutter or to leave The Lord Humongous in the dust, even if he is "The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla!"

Through a variety of recent U.S. federal government spending bills, there are massive funds available to local police agencies to upgrade their equipment. The one caveat is they aren't allowed to use the money on "military" vehicles, but a 2022 Challenger R/T Scat pack Widebody sure isn't a weapon of war, though it is a pretty killer app.

These government grants have to be used for something, so why not a really cool pursuit vehicle? Actually, it would be hard to believe that police departments aren't tripping over themselves to get their hands on these hot cop cars. It's also not beyond the realm of possibilities to think there are more than a few people who wouldn't mind getting pulled over by one.
