Battista Pininfarina, Bertone, Tamburini–Italy has given us some of the most talented designers in the world. However, these are all legends in the industry (who are either enjoying retirement or resting in peace) and it’s high time the new kids take over. Enter Luca Pagani, a young designer and clay modeler who has worked with celebrated names like Gucci and Italdesign. For his latest project, however, the designer has birthed a tantalizing custom Ducati cafe racer from the ground up, only to prove Italy’s prowess in motorcycle design yet again.

The Custom Ducati Cafe-Racer Has A Bespoke Body

The triple-tone livery looks svelte, doesn't it?

Dubbed ‘Euforia’ by its maker, the custom motorcycle looks the part because of its exclusive body, designed entirely by Luca. Up top, you get half-fairing complete with edgy aero wings and a round LED headlight, while the back end boasts a sleek seat pan bejeweled with a premium leather saddle. Between these, a brawny fuel tank helps bring the design home, thanks to the seamless connection, almost as if it’s a monocoque setup. Meanwhile, a closer look helps soak in the beautiful livery comprising a root beer base coat, white, and deep red sandwiched in the middle. The red also extends to the chassis, wheel stripes, and dry clutch case.

The Custom Cafe-Racer Is Built Around A Ducati 996 Chassis

Under-seat exhausts just look at home on a Ducati

And this brings us to the mechanicals. The cafe-racer is built around a Ducati 996 chassis, paired with a Ducati 848-derived single-sided swingarm. This is topped by custom suspension - adjustable upside-down forks and monoshock - sourced from Ducati OEMs, in addition to the custom 17-inch wheels. There’s no shortage of braking power either, courtesy of the Brembo calipers, disc brakes, and master cylinders. All it’s missing is a set of Pirelli SuperCorsa tires now.

Like the underpinnings, the engine comes from a Ducati too, the DS 1000 in this case. The 992cc, twin-cylinder mill promises 84 horsepower in its stock trim but should churn out more here, thanks to the free-flow FF By Fresco exhaust. The exhaust amps up the aesthetics (under-seat cans for the win) and sound too. Just so you can extract all this power, the designer has also thrown in clip-on handlebars, rear set footrests, and hand levers, all sourced from Valter Moto Components.

The maker has opened orders for the Euforia

Yes, you can! Given the popularity, Luca Pagani has opened orders for the Euforia. But he hasn’t revealed the price or production capacity, so you will have to contact him about that. What we do know, though, is the cafe racer can be had in two options–either the one you see here or one based on the new Ducati Monster. The latter would cater to modern motorcycle fans, but will understandably look a bit different.
