Ever since its inception a few years ago, the Sportster S has been the most modern Harley-Davidson cruiser out there. It also makes the thumper rather tricky to customize, which is why there aren’t many out-of-the-ordinary customs based on the cruiser. But if you’re Dirty Unicorn Customs, this just means a new challenge for you to take on. Doing just that, the British shop has transformed the modern cruiser into a menacing bobber that looks unlike any other Sportster S build we’ve seen. Or you might’ve seen.

Unlike the stuck flat seat, this one has a swooped saddle

In its stock form, the Sportster S takes inspiration from flat-track motorcycles, evident from its up-swept exhausts, sleek tail, and a flat seat. But none of that remains here. The shop has binned the subframe and seat pan to make way for a custom piece that latches onto the front frame as well as the engine. The bobber-inspired setup also serves duty as the seat pan and houses the sly LED indicators. Meanwhile, a closer look reveals the custom rear wheel, put in place to upgrade the 180-section OEM tire to a 200-section hoop from Metzeler.

At the opposite end, the upside-down forks, 17-inch wheel, and 160-section tire all remain as it is, but now couple up with a custom fender and fork covers. Similarly, you get a custom quad-projector headlight and a blacked-out visor that hides the OEM TFT instrument cluster. The cockpit will feel a tad different, though, courtesy of the lower handlebar and edgy upside-down mirrors. Couple this with the swooped custom saddle, and the Sportster should have a comfier riding triangle.

The slash-cut exhausts should result in a considerable weight cut

Under its bobber body, the Harley cruiser continues to employ the Revolution Max V-twin that displaces 1,252 cubic centimeters and puts out 121 horsepower in its stock form. Here, the output here should be slightly higher, given the free-flow two-into-two exhaust. Not to mention, it’ll produce a louder exhaust note and shed a few pounds off the claimed 496-pound curb weight. Since there isn’t too big a power bump, Dirty Unicorn has left the front 320 mm disc, rear 260 mm disc, and Brembo calipers untethered.
