Christmas is once again here and in typical fashion, the marketing teams at car companies unleash their creativity to come up with memorable adverts in the spirit of one of our favorite celebrations. Being kind and devoted to family are some of the main values that we should uphold and for the 2022 holidays, we have been greeted with inspiring car commercials revolving around our most sacred values along with the winds of change, reflecting the automotive industry. No budget was spared in the name of the Christmas spirit, but for one reason or another, we chose these 10 as the best ones of 2022.

10 BMW With A Fun Little Banter Between A Father And Son

Christmas is all about family and being generous and kind to your loved ones. This commercial for the 2022 BMW Road Home Sales Event represents just that. We see a BMW 5 Series, X7, and X5 pulling in front of a Christmas-decorated house. The kids have grown up (and drive BMWs) and come to visit their parents. An unplanned present has been gifted to the father as the red ribbon from the porch top falls on top of the 2023 BMW X7. Both the son's and father’s reactions are priceless, as the older gentleman enjoys the thrill of driving the full-size, luxury SUV.

9 You Can Catch Up With The Santa If You've Got A Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen!

Mercedes is no stranger to holiday commercials and this year, it does not disappoint. We see a modern representation of the sleigh where a couple of silver “Mercs” are “pulling” (actually, driving in front) of a red AMG GT four-door with matching-outfit, Santa, behind the wheel. As he struggles to find a young girl’s gift, Mrs. Santa drives in to save the day with a red, 2023 G-Wagen, delivering a Corgi dog with a red ribbon. All is well when it ends well.

8 A New Audi RS7 Sleigh With 591 Reindeers

Audi is big on change and its 2022 holiday commercials couldn’t make it any more obvious. With reinventing its entire lineup, eventually going full-EV, the German premium brand also wants to reinvent Santa Claus. The traditional image of Santa is one of a bearded, fat, old man with a red suit. According to Audi, this is wrong. We see a sad Santa, struggling to get into shape. We see December 25th marked on a calendar as a deadline for the drastic change. After what seems like a grueling workout regime, Santa is completely transformed into a lean, mean, present-gifting machine. A reward is in order, and a red Audi RS5 Sportback, pulled by a pack of reindeer is being presented. Queue the “Quattro” jokes.

7 A Chevrolet Impala Tugs The Heartstrings In This Beautiful Movie

Chevrolet is big on heritage and this year, it reminds us, in multiple ways that one should remember and cherish the beautiful moments with loved ones even if they aren’t with us anymore. An old man, living a solitary life with his dog, walks to a barn and replaces an old wreath with a new one, before walking inside. There we are greeted by a “barn-find”, 1966 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport Convertible. The car, which has a picture of the man’s deceased wife, prompting memories, looks neglected, but all that changes after the main character’s daughter secretly restore the Chevy with her father’s friends. Chevy managed to hit us right in the heart with this beautiful short movie.

6 Toyota's Heartwarming Ad For The Festive Season

Toyota Corolla is one of the most popular, affordable vehicles ever made. Although in most of its guises, the Corolla is considered a boring car, it is also a consistently dependable like almost all Toyota products. In 2022, the Corolla lineup grew up with the introduction of the Corolla Cross – a compact crossover/SUV model, positioned below the RAV4. We see a kind woman spreading kindness while helping the people in her community in various situations. Toyota’s commercial is named "Like No One's Watching", so we believe the message here is to be as dependable and as versatile as the new Corolla Cross while doing good out of the kindness of your heart.

5 GMC - The Heart Wants What The Heart Wants

This one is quite straightforward. A young couple walking through a snowy forest on what looks like a romantic date. An emotional exchange of presents is on order where the woman receives a Bernese mountain dog puppy while the man gets a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab. We are pretty sure we know who got the better deal. Although we have nothing against dogs (on the contrary), but beauty, as they say, is in the eye of the beholder, and with a 6.2-liter V-8, there are 420 horses on tap for you to behold. As for what is common between a Bernese mountain dog and a GMC Sierra, we don’t know, but we are pretty sure both are good for the family.

4 What Better Way To Celebrate Christmas Than With A Ford Mustang Quiz?

Like Chevy, Ford is big on heritage. Both carmakers can exchange blows all day when it comes to iconic models, and the Mustang is right up there, being the founder of the Pony car segment. “A Mustang Holiday dinner” is Ford’s idea of a Christmas gathering. We see members of the Ford family at a table playing a Mustang quiz. Among them are Formula Drift Champion, Vaughn Gittin Jr., Racing Driver, Hailie Deegan, Chief Engineer, Ed Krenz, along with members of Ford’s marketing and design department. It’s really all about the Mustang S650 and all its features, some of which are a throwback to older generations.

3 Santa's Job In The Future Could Get Easier With The Audi Grandsphere

Audi’s second holiday commercial for 2022 looks more like a scene from a James Bond movie. Gone is the signature, red tone, and instead we are greeted by a Santa Claus, dressed in a stylish suit. Everything is grey, including the new “sleigh” of “Mr. Claus”… Santa Claus. The whole scenery is very grey and futuristic if a bit brutalist. The formally-dressed Mr. Claus is taken to an underground facility where he is seated in the Audi Grandsphere concept – the brand’s latest autonomous EV study. While initially struck, the modern Santa quickly gets used to the creature comforts of the German model and we even see two confused reindeer being passed by. We are not sure if this is the Santa kids want, but apparently, it’s Audi’s idea.

2 Chevrolet - When The Future Meets The Past And The Present

A 1955 to 1961 Chevrolet Nomad Wagon is, probably, not the first Chevy you will think of, but we think Chevrolet’s 2022 holiday commercial, dubbed “Mrs. Hayes”, will sear it into your mind. It is a message of durability, loyalty, kindness, and cherishing the family despite the winds of change upon us. The Nomad Wagon is presented as a family car to a young couple, of which the man is sent into military service. Later, we see that he did not make it, but Mrs. Hayes continues to carry on with the 1950s Chevy, preserving it to the present day. When the car doesn’t start one day, a fellow neighbor, driving a 2024 Blazer EV SS gives her a ride. It is an emotional moment when the 1950s classic had to be left at the parking lot, but the kind neighbors brought the car back to life.

1 Kia's Beautiful, Emotional Present For The Kids At St. Jude Hospital

Kia’s “Holiday Joyride” is dedicated to the kids of St. Jude Hospital. The establishment is well-known for treating children with cancer, blood disorder, and other life-threatening conditions. For this Christmas, Kia teamed up with St. Jude Hospital to take the kids on a “ride” through the North Pole without actually going there. The Kia EV6 GT has been chosen for the “trip”, which is actually, a very well-executed animation and light show that takes you to the Northern ice fields without actually taking you there. Although the EV6 GT’s 585 horsepower is not demonstrated here, Kia is donating to St. Jude Hospital from every Kia sold.
